Resolving the 'Not Started' Meeting Issue in Your Dashboard

Prior to September, 2023 we were seeing meetings marked as 'Not Started' even when they've occurred. Read about the root cause.

Updated over a year ago

Update on 9/5/2023: Zoom has resolved the issue that was affecting our integration.

In most instances, when your Upcoming Meetings dashboard shows a meeting labeled 'Not Started', it's usually due to the meeting being skipped (without cancelling the invite) or starting 10+ minutes late. In the latter case, our system perceives it as a separate event, creating a new event recap on your dashboard.

However, lately, we've noticed an uptick in past meetings marked 'Not Started' even when you've confirmed they occurred. Here's what we've learned:

Why It's Happening: Our system syncs with Zoom, letting us know when meetings begin and end. This enables us to trigger, capture, and process recordings. Unfortunately, for some unknown reasons, Zoom hasn't been sending the necessary webhooks, leaving us in the dark.

The Good News: We're working hand-in-hand with Zoom's top tech heads, including their CTO, and they recently identified the root cause. They are now working to fix the issue and report back to us ASAP.

Quick Fix: If UpdateAI doesn't trigger for Zoom's native cloud to start recording at the beginning of your meeting, simply start the recording manually. We'll get the recording and process it post-meeting.

I'm sincerely sorry for this inconvenience. We know it's crucial, and we're working tirelessly with Zoom to rectify it. We genuinely appreciate your understanding.

Thank you,
