Topic creation is available to Owners and Admins whose workspace is on a Customer Intelligence Subscription Plan.
The ability to Follow Topics is available to all users (with either paid or free seats) whose workspace is on a Customer Intelligence Plan.
Overview
Workspace Owners and Admins have exclusive access to customize topics within the Portfolio Insights VoC Topic Discovery dashboard. These changes apply across all workspace meeting insights.
How Topics Work
Topics are generated automatically but are only forward looking. The sooner you create them, the better and more powerful they become. Topics can be keyword based or fully written out themes. Our AI goes beyond keyword detection- expanding the insights generated via topics.
Creating Custom Topics:

To create a custom topic, follow these steps:
Go to portal.update.ai
1. Go to Portfolio Insights from the left-hand navigation
2. Click "VoC Topic Discovery"
3. Click "Add Topic"
In the upper right hand corner. Select add topic.
4. Name your new custom topic.
Give your new topic a name. Something that's easy to recall and identify.
5. Add a description
Add a description to the topic so that both you and teammates understand what this topic is looking for across all of the meetings in your workspace.
6. Select a Category
Click the drop-down to align the topic to one of our existing categories: Risks product feedback, growth opportunities or advocacy
7. Click "Add Topic"
All set! Click add topic to start tracking this topic in your custom topics.
Following topics
Want to follow a topic? Click the three dots on the right hand side of the topic and click "follow". It will be added to the Topics I'm Following tab. We'll send you a weekly digest every Friday at 7a (local time set in your account) with updates on all new detections in the topics you're following- keeping you up to date and informed on what matters most.
