How do I stop UpdateAI from automatically recording my meetings?
How do I stop UpdateAI from automatically recording my meetings?

Learn how to tell UpdateAI to skip a meeting if you do not want it recorded automatically at the start.

Updated over a week ago

You can prevent any meeting from being recorded by heading to the Upcoming Meetings tab of your portal dashboard and toggling off the "Record Meeting" column for that meeting:

NOTE: Situations change. If you asked UpdateAI to skip a particular meeting but then decided that you want it to be recorded during the session, that's okay. We'll know that you've recorded the session and still go ahead and create a recap for you!

More about your recording settings

There are three types of meetings that you host that UpdateAI can record:

  1. External meetings

  2. Internal meetings

  3. Unmatched meetings

(UpdateAI currently only records meetings that are held on Zoom.)

External meetings

External meetings are any meeting where at least one invitee (from your calendar invitation) has an email address with a domain that is different from your own.

We automatically trigger for Zoom to record the external meetings that you host. Paid plan users are able to disable this setting at the global level for all external meeting in their calendar.

Those without a paid plan can still always head to your portal dashboard to disable any individual external meeting.

Internal meetings

Inside your settings you can globally disable or enable for Zoom to automatically begin recording any time an internal meeting that you host begins.

An internal meeting is a meeting where all the invitees on the calendar invitation share the same email address domain.

Unmatched meetings

Unmatched meetings are meetings you've had that are not associated with any events in your calendar. They are 'unmatched'.

For example, these can be meetings that you started 'on the fly' or 'ad hoc' without a calendar invite.

We will treat this meeting type the same as your settings for Internal meetings.
