How to Create, Join, or Leave Organizations in UpdateAI.

A step-by-step guide on creating, joining, or switching organizations in UpdateAI.

Updated over a week ago

Welcome to UpdateAI! As a new user, you'll start by creating or joining an organization.

Here's a step-by-step guide to help you through the process:

  1. Joining or Creating an Organization: During your onboarding process, you will be asked to create an organization. If you've been invited to an existing organization via your email address, you'll also have the opportunity to join it then.

  2. Naming Your Organization: When setting up a new organization, you simply need to provide the organization's name. If you're planning to use the organization as a private, personal workspace without inviting others, we recommend using a format like "[Your first name]'s Organization". If you're creating an organization for collaborative work with your colleagues, consider using your company name.

  3. Understanding Roles and Responsibilities: As the creator, you will automatically be designated as the OWNER of the organization. Please note that each organization can only have one owner. However, there's no limit to the number of ADMINS and MEMBERS you can add. For more information on roles and responsibilities, visit our organization roles and responsibilities page.

  4. Participating in Multiple Organizations: Currently, each user of UpdateAI can only be a member of one organization at a time.

  5. Switching Organizations: If you decide to leave your existing organization and start a new one, the process is straightforward. Visit your organization settings page, find your name in the members table, and select "Leave". A new organization will automatically be created for you upon leaving the existing one. You can rename your new organization at any time.

Please note: this change is immediate, so be sure you're ready to make the transition before selecting "Leave".
